On paper most of my clients lives look enviable.

They’re successful, capable, and their performance is good. People rely on them, decisions get made and standards are kept high.

Clients usually come to this work for two reasons. Either they want to strengthen what is already working and continue to progress, or because something feels off or flat.

They can’t quite name it, it’s not quite unhappiness, but there is a discomfort. Everything takes more energy and effort than it used to - conflict, communication, decision making and being present in their personal life becomes more difficult. They are there physically, but not always mentally.

After achievements they bounce straight on to the next goal without even celebrating.

Most of the leaders I work with are underperforming, but only they have noticed. It’s taking all their energy to sustain their normal level and they are aware things are starting to slide. This can sometimes be due to neurodiversity that they often aren’t aware of. This is an enormous problem because most are in high pressure, high stakes roles. Their decisions carry a lot of weight - affecting teams, organisations, investors and often their families. They often have no space where they can think and talk openly about that pressure.

We all carry unconscious patterns which don’t just sit in the background, they form our personality. all our beliefs around self-worth, responsibility, the goals we set and the future we want, these still control how we relate to ourselves and others. Under pressure, these show up in how we handle conflict, authority and intimacy, and importantly, how we see ourselves as leaders. This is not a flaw in you, it’s simply unresolved patterns that have outstayed their welcome. My work clears all these old patterns and then looks strategically at your leadership and your life

Your leadership improves, decisions are made innately, your communication improves and relationships renew. You, your team and your family will notice the difference.

You begin making more intentional choices about your life, your relationships and your business, designing a future that reflects who you actually want to be.

When success doesn’t feel like success

“I worked with Mari to help me get clarity on where I wanted to take my business but I ended up going way deeper than that! She helped me uncover ways that I was blocking myself in my business and also in my personal life.

It’s not one size fits all with Mari. She works with you as an individual. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to make progress in any area of their life.”

The inner life of leadership

You can’t separate who you are at work, from who you are everywhere else. Your leadership is a representation of the whole you. The way you deal with pressure, conflict, responsibility and your value system, entirely forms how you lead and how you relate to people and the wider world. Most importantly, how you experience yourself as a leader. You are one person.

Most leadership coaching or executive therapy focuses mainly on current behaviour. It looks at strategy, performance frameworks or emotions, but rarely changes what is driving them. You may have revisited past events to analyse them.

These approaches can be useful, but talking alone rarely changes what is driving behaviour. I work strategically, using a bespoke mix of techniques, tools and focused conversations to identify and work a the exact source of the patterns that need to change.

Under pressure, leaders do not rely on leadership tips or logical knowledge, they respond from instinct. Beliefs formed much earlier in life around responsibility, money, control, achievement, legacy and self-worth shape how leadership is experienced, how conflict is handled and how decisions are made.

Understanding this intellectually does not change it. You have to work at the root. When those pattens shift, leadership and life change naturally.

My work brings the whole picture together. We look at what is happening now, where it came from and how it is creating the future you are building.

Psychology, leadership and strategy are worked on together rather than separately, taking into account any neurodiversity you may have, and allowing you to build the leadership, success and life you genuinely want.

“If you don’t resolve what is driving you, your leadership will eventually expose it”

“Being completely honest, I was sceptical at the outset having completed several leadership coaching courses where the benefit wore off quickly as the busyness of life swamped the effort it took to adopt the learnings.

A year on I am so pleased I worked with Mari. It‘s been an amazing and empowering experience. I feel more confident, able and happier in my role. I take situations I dreaded, in my stride. Mari was amazing at understanding my issues, and offering long-term, life changing empowering solutions without me doing the heavy lifting. I highly recommend her!”

“I had always been able to use hard work and ‘graft’ to overcome challenges in past, this time was different. Finally dealing with the underlying ‘coding’ in my brain as to why I thought, felt and acted in a certain way, truly allowed me to overcome in a way that has stayed with me from that point forth…

I remember my consultative call with Mari, when she told me the fee for our work – I asked her “would I get a return on this?” She promised I would, and I truly have. My business value increased directly. My feedback from teams improved. And my personal situations, as a ripple effect got better too.”

“Her tailored advice and strategies, helped me develop a deeper understanding of my own leadership style, communicate with confidence, move forward with tough decisions that needed to be made, and build trust with, and among, team members in the midst of a critical season.

Mari's guidance has had a profound impact on my personal well-being also. I now feel a sense of peace and self-assurance that I hadn't experienced before.”
